Padma Shri Award Winners List 21 March 2022
Padma Shri award has been given to 53 person at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 21 March 2022. President Ram Nath Kovind gave the Padma Shri award. Swami Sivananda also got Padma Shri award for Yoga and he was born in 1896. All the winners are listed in below table.

1) Swami Sivananda
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Swami Sivananda for Yoga. He Dedicated his whole life for human welfare. He has been serving leprosy-affected people at Puri for the past 50 years. Sivananda is Born in 1896. He get attention of national & international organisations for his healthy & long life.
2) Prof. (Ms) Badaplin War
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Prof. (Ms) Badaplin War for Literature and Education. She is a Professor in the Department of Khasi, NEHU. She is an expert on Khasi linguistics, literature, culture and translation.
3) Dr. Jayantkumar Maganlal Vyas
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr. Jayantkumar Maganlal Vyas for Science and Engineering. He is a veteran forensic scientist. Maganlal is also the founder VC of National Forensic Sciences University. Jayantkumar has 48 years of experience. He is India’s senior most serving forensic scientist.
4) Smt. Durga Bai Vyam
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Smt. Durga Bai Vyam for Art. She is a Pardhan Gond artist hailing from Madhya Pradesh. She has worked hard to regenerate the tribal art form. Her paintings are mostly drawn from the folklores and stories of her tribe and their myths.
5) Shri Kaajee Singh ‘Vidyaarthee’
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Kaajee Singh ‘Vidyaarthee’ for Art. Founder chairman of Samskriti Samrakshan Samsthaan in Kalimpong, which promotes folk cultural music and has pioneered the growth of the instrument Shree Maadal.
6) Prof. Kamlakar Tripathi
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Prof. Kamlakar Tripathi for Medicine. He is a retired Professor of Medicine from the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU. He is recognized for his academic excellence. Kamlakar is also serving people free-of-cost.
7) Prof. Raghuvendra Tanwar
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Prof. Raghuvendra Tanwar for Literature and Education. He is Professor Emeritus, Kurukshetra University and Chairman of ICHR, New Delhi. He is widely known for his study of the partition of India, mainly the Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
8) Smt Ajita Srivastava
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Smt Ajita Srivastava for Art. She is a well-known folk singer of Uttar Pradesh from Mirzapur. She is widely recognized to preserve, conserve and propagate the popular folklore of ‘Kajli’.
9) Dr Ajai Kumar Sonkar
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Ajai Kumar Sonkar for Science and Engineering. He is an independent scientist in the field of marine aquaculture. He is a renowned scientist. Dr Ajai known for development of pearl making techniques through state-of-the-art tissue culture.
10) Dr Bhimsen Singhal
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Bhimsen Singhal for Medicine. He is Director of Neurology at Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences. Dr Bhimsen is one of the eminent neurologists in India. He has contributed significantly to the growth of neurology over the last 60 years.
11) Shri Sethpal Singh
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Sethpal Singh for Agriculture. He is A farmer from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Shri Sethpal Singh demonstrated diversification in the agriculture sector for sustainable income for smallholder farmers.
12) Shri Prem Singh
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Prem Singh for Social Work. He has been rendering social service from last 32 years for Community based rehabilitation of leprosy-affected persons and revival of their human rights and elimination of leprosy from the country.
13) Shri Konsam Ibomcha Singh
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Konsam Ibomcha Singh for Art. He is an expert in Doll and Toys making craft, a traditional craft of Manipur. Shri Konsam Ibomcha Singh is a participant in various national exhibitions. He is recipient of Manipur State award for his contribution in handicraft.
14) Dr Siddalingaiah (Posthumous)
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Siddalingaiah (Posthumous) for Literature and Education. He is a famous Kannada poet. He is also a social activist, academic & legislator. Dr Siddalingaiah shot into fame with his poems ‘Holemadigara Haadu’– a trend setter for the next generation in 1970s.
15) Prof. Vishwa Murti Shastri
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Prof. Vishwa Murti Shastri for Literature and Education. Hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, he has profound knowledge of Sanskrit literature. He is recognized for his relentless efforts and active participation in social work.
16) Pandit Ram Dayal Sharma
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Pandit Ram Dayal Sharma for Art. He is a living legend of Nautanki, Swang, Bhagat, Raasleela and Rasiya forms. Ram Dayal is the present guru of Samai-Khera gharana. He utilizes his art to raise awareness about social issues.
17) Shri Brahmanand Sagun Kamat Shankhwalkar
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Brahmanand Sagun Kamat Shankhwalkar for Sports. Brahmanand is a former Indian footballer and Captain of Indian Football Team. He represented the country and several clubs with distinctions as goalkeeper.
18) Prof. Dilip T. Shahani

21) Shri Gosaveedu Shaik Hassan Sahieb (Posthumous)
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Gosaveedu Shaik Hassan Sahieb (Posthumous) for Art. He was the first Asthana Nadswara Vidhwan of Sree Seeta Ramchandra Swamy Devasthanam, Bhadrachalam. He performed Nadswaram in many temples in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
22) Dr Garikipati V.B. Narasimha Rao
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Garikipati V.B. Narasimha Rao for Literature and Education. A renowned spiritual and motivational orator, litterateur, poet and Maha sahasravadham, he has delivered over 11,000 lectures across the globe.
23) Dr Sunkara Venkata Adinarayana Rao
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Sunkara Venkata Adinarayana Rao for Medicine. He is an Orthopedic Surgeon. He is also Managing Trustee of Free Polio Surgical and Research Foundation, Visakhapatnam and works for the poor and needy.
24) Shri Sheesh Ram
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Sheesh Ram for Art. He is a well-known artist. He draw paintings on national integration, women empowerment, Indian warfare and history of Indian art. His art have been exhibited in India and abroad.
25) Dr Anil Kumar Rajvanshi
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Anil Kumar Rajvanshi for Science and Engineering. He is the Director of Nimbkar Agricultural Research Institute, Maharashtra. In last three decades, his work has spanned a whole spectrum of areas affecting the lives of rural population.
26) Shri Ram Sahay Pandey
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Ram Sahay Pandey for Art. He is a folk artist from the Bundelkhand region. He also has represented India in many countries. Ram is the founder of Bundeli Lok Nritya Natya Kala Parishad.
27) Shri A.K.C. Natarajan
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri A.K.C. Natarajan for Art. He is a senior carnatic music exponent. He has performed widely in India and abroad. A great performer and innovator, he is hailed as a living legend.
28) Smt R Muthukkannammal
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Smt R Muthukkannammal for Art. She is the only living Sadir dance exponent in India and serves as a repository of knowledge about the history of Bharathanatyam. She has given over 1000 performances in the last 75 years.
29) Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra (posthumous)
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra (posthumous) for Civil Service. He is a career civil servant, also he succumbed to covid related complications while working through his illness to coordinate oxygen supplies in the country during the second Covid wave.
30) Shri Darshanam Mogulaiah
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Darshanam Mogulaiah for Art. He is an artist who sings folk and heroic songs by playing Kinnera, a 500-year-old instrument made of bamboo.
31) Ms Avani Lekhara
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Ms Avani Lekhara for Sports. She is the first Indian woman to win two medals in the same Paralympics and the first Indian woman to win Paralympics gold.
32) Ms Vandana Kataria
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Ms Vandana Kataria for Sports. She is an Indian Hockey player. She was the Indian top scorer in the women’s hockey junior world cup 2013.
33) Ms Tara Jauhar
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Ms Tara Jauhar for Literature and Education. She is known as Tara Didi. Tara is a remarkable writer and educationalist. She has dedicated her life to propagating the teaching of Shri Aurobindo.
34) Prof Sosamma Iype
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Prof Sosamma Iype for Animal Husbandry. She is a Director of Projects of the Vechur Conservation Trust, an NGO that works towards the conservation of the indigenous cattle breeds of Kerala – the Vechur and Kasaragod cows.
35) Shri Narasingha Prasad Guru

39) Shri Khalil Dhantejvi (posthumous)
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Khalil Dhantejvi (posthumous) for Arts. He championed the ascent of Gujarati language in the Ghazal literature. His recitals in Gujarati and Urdu have been pivotal in bringing newer audience to the Ghazal universe.
40) Dr Shyamamani Devi
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Shyamamani Devi for Art. She made major contributions to the systematic development of Odishi music and the codification of its grammar. She has enthralled audiences with her over 4,000 songs in a career spanning more than 7 decades.
41) Shri Maljibhai Devjibhai Desai
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Maljibhai Devjibhai Desai for Public Affairs. He is the chairman of Gandhi Ashram Zilia charitable trust. 11 educational institutions work for the upliftment of socially downtrodden families in Gujarat under the leadership of Maljibhai.
42) Prof Aditya Prasad Dash
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Prof Aditya Prasad Dash for Science and Engineering. He is Vice Chancellor of the AIPH University, Bhubaneswar. Prasad has significantly contributed in the field of vector-borne and tropical diseases affecting the marginalised communities.

48) Dr Madhuri Barthwal
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Dr Madhuri Barthwal for Art. She is a retired music composer and music director of All India Radio, Najibabad. She is also recognised for the preservation and promotion of folk music and the culture of Uttarakhand.
49) Srimad Baba Balia
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Srimad Baba Balia for Social Work. He is founder of Sishu Ananta Ashram and Ananta Balia Trust, Odisha. His philanthropic works include working on women empowerment, environment protection and blood donation.
50) Shri Sirpi Balasubramaniam
President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Sirpi Balasubramaniam for Literature & Education. He is director of Dr Arutchelvar Mahalingam Translation Institute, Pollachi. Shri Balasubramaniam is a Tamil poet and has made notable contribution to Tamil literature for the past 60 years.

52) Prof Najma Akhtar
